The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors that includes members from academia, patient and consumer advocacy, FDA-regulated industry, health care, and other disciplines. The FDA Commissioner and the Director of the National Institutes of Health serve as ex officio and non-voting members of the Board. The federal statute that created the Foundation prohibits government control of it; the Foundation has no role in FDA’s regulatory process. Our bylaws outline the conflict of interest policies to assure that no one entity or organization has undue influence on Foundation initiatives and projects.
